BEDFORD – Dozens of representatives from the aerospace and defense industries will gather this week in New Hampshire to brainstorm, exchange ideas and network.

Trade representatives from Canada, Saudi Arabia, India, Quebec and the United Kingdom will join leaders from several New Hampshire defense and technology companies for the fourth annual networking event hosted by the New Hampshire Aerospace and Defense Export Consortium.

“We have people coming from around the region,” said Dawn Wivell, executive director of NHADEC. About 100 people are expected to register.

The event provides a platform for businesses to come together, network within their industry, meet other entrepreneurs and innovators, share their needs and highlight their work, Wivell said.

“The innovation here in New Hampshire for the defense industry is phenomenal,” said Nathaniel Nelson, a board member with NHADEC and a representative with the Division of Economic Development’s Office of International Commerce.

Nelson, who moved to New Hampshire from Washington, D.C., said he had no idea how significant the Granite State is for the defense industry.

“I was floored to come here and see the innovation coming out of the state. There is a significant story there,” Nelson said. “And we just know about the tip of the iceberg. This is a real thing. There is a lot that is being done to help grow the defense industry in New England.”
